Step 1: Measure the Area

• Size of the Bathroom: Measure the square footage of the bathroom where you intend to install the heated flooring. Remember to exclude areas where permanent fixtures like the toilet or vanity will stand.

Step 2: Choose Your Heating cable size 

• Size: Schluter offers multiple sizes, so you can fit any bathroom. Please note you cannot cut wires to size. Pick the size that matches your square footage the closest. 

Step 3: Choose an Uncoupling Membrane

• Type: Schluter's DITRA-HEAT uncoupling membrane integrates with the heating cable. Make sure the size you choose fits your bathroom dimensions. There is also a Peel & Stick option that will save you one layer of thin set.
• Installation: Check if you need additional products like thin set and trowels for membrane installation.

Step 4: Thermostat Control

• Model: Pick a thermostat that suits your requirements. Schluter provides options like touchscreen or programmable thermostats.
• Features: Check for features like Wi-Fi connectivity if remote control is desired.
